# Onus > A habit tracker built on exactly three non-negotiables, which cannot punish you for one > bad day. A small creature called Oni keeps the record of what you kept and grows into one > of twelve forms depending on which promises you favour. Miss a day and Oni sleeps rather > than dies. Onus is an iOS app, in development as of August 2026. Everything is stored on the device. ## What it is - **Three non-negotiables, and only three.** The cap is the product, not a free-tier limit. The three can only be rewritten at the weekly review, so a standard cannot be renegotiated on the night it is being failed. - **Dormancy, not death.** A missed day makes Oni rest. No streak is destroyed, no guilt is applied, and Oni holds nothing against the user. This is the single clearest difference from every streak-based tracker. - **Evolution, not streaks.** Twelve forms. Which one appears depends on *which* of the three promises are favoured over weeks, not on how many days have been banked. The rules are deliberately unpublished. - **Shared custody.** One Oni held by two people, against one shared record. - **The daily Card.** A dated, stamped artifact Oni draws on each evening close-out. - **Reminders and a list, in the same app.** Reminders carry a time and are delivered by iOS; the list is a plain checklist with no dates at all. Neither is on the ledger: neither feeds Oni, appears on Today, or affects the evolution. They are there so the day fits in one app. ## Pricing - Free permanently: the three non-negotiables, weekly/monthly/yearly vows, reminders, the list, Oni and all twelve of Oni's forms, mercy, a card from Oni every day you close, and the last four months of the ledger. - Paid (Custodian): the full ledger back to day one, every month printed whole, every card Oni has ever drawn, and shared custody. £18/year or £2.50/month, with a 7-day trial. - Mercy is never sold. Nothing paid can gate a kept day. ## How it differs from the alternatives - Unlike streak trackers, a missed day costs nothing and cannot be bought back. - Unlike gamified trackers, Oni is not an avatar of the user and cannot be levelled down, killed, or restored by payment. - Unlike general habit trackers, the number of habits is fixed at three by design. ## Pages - [Home](https://onusapp.co.uk/): what it is, the free-forever list, and the download. - [Privacy](https://onusapp.co.uk/privacy): what is collected, in plain English. Almost nothing. - [Data policy](https://onusapp.co.uk/data): the same, field by field, with retention periods and the list of processors. - [Terms](https://onusapp.co.uk/terms) and [Support](https://onusapp.co.uk/support).
